Each year children suffer serious injury or death in car accidents.  Children need special protection when traveling in motor vehicles and many of these injuries can be prevented by the correct use of child safety seats.  It is estimated that 80-90% of child safety seats are improperly installed.  The best car seat is one that fits the child and the vehicle, and one that is easy to install and is used every time the child is in the car. The Avra Valley Fire District treats your children as if they were our own. Our suppression staff contains car seat installation technicians certified through the certifying body: Safe Kids Worldwide and the curriculum by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.  Appointments can be set up to insure that a technician is available to educate parents on the proper install.  The purpose of the program is to help educate the public on keeping our children safe and to sustain preventative measures every time we travel.  If there is any questions about your install please feel free to contact our offices.
